Who Is In Your Home ?

You have made a decision to hire someone to clean your home.  Regardless of your choice , there are several  important  things you should know and/or do before hiring an individual or service.  These things apply even to those people who might be recommended by a friend or neighbor.

First, meet and interview the individual or service.  Invite them into your home to give a walk through.  Outline exactly what your needs are...do you want all rooms cleaned all of the time?  Do you have senitmental items you don't want them to touch?  Do you have special requests/use special products?  Determine who furnishes cleaning equipment and supplies.  Take this opportunity to find out if they pay attention to your needs, is there a language barrier, do they like pets, will they show up as scheduled, etc.  Find out specifics about the people who will be cleaning your home.  Is it the person talking to you?  A cleaning crew?  If so, how many are on the crew?  Will it generally be the same people?  How does the company or individual handle damage or theft?  One of the most costly items for a service company is the bond and company insurance.  However, it is VITALLY important for the company or individual to have it.  This insurance protects you from damage or theft.  Generally, service companies have it.  However, many individuals do not.  That is why an individual's price to clean your home may be so "cheap".  As far as background checks go, an individual doesn't do a background check on themselves.  And not every service company uses the information a background check provides.  We have interviewed people who are working for another company who cannot pass a background check.  We will not hire them.

Executive Maid Service is a company that has been in business for over twenty years (20) years.  We are not a franchise, but a family owned business with offices in Hurst.  When we began, we asked ourselves what sort of individual we would want in our home.  Out thoughts led us to determine the sort of person we wanted to hire and we adhere to it today.  Our workers must pass a police background check, be fluent in English, be responsible, dependable, love animals, have good communication skills and be trustworthy.  Sadly, not every service company has these same standards.  In many cases, these people will have a key to your home and/or your security code.  Our philosophy is if we wouldn't give them a key to our home, we certainly won't hire them and give them a key to yours.  No matter who you hire, be sure the workers have had backgrounds done by the company/individual employing them.  Whether you hire us, and individual, or another service company, please take the time to satisfy yourself that your decision was correct.  Don't forget the real question in this: "Who is in Your Home?"
